We decided to make a run for the jump gate. We were plinking a few enemy ships in a hostile sector when we got swarmed. One of my best gaming moment was playing the previous version (Renegades?) with my son. You can host your own multiplayer servers and I believe there is at least one official server and you can take the same pilot back and forth, if I recall correctly? I am looking forward to trying this more this go round and doing some high speed passes and spinning in combat to shoot guys on my tail ).įrom what I understand, it can also be true offline for those that care about that. Now that I have spent quite a few hours in Elite: Dangerous with a joystick and feel I am at least a competent pilot, I am really excited to jump back into this new iteration to see how it compares.Ī few differences are in Evochron, it is (true?) Newtonian physics (or at least more so than Elite) in that if you keep thrusting, your speed is not limited and if you take flight assist off you can spin in place while maintaining your initial momentum/inertia. I did play the previous Evochron for the first time about 2 years ago without a joystick and I wasn’t so good at the flying and combat. I haven’t had enough time to do much yet, but will try to give an honest evaluation in the coming days.
